View on WikiLocEl Cuchillo is a hidden gem tucked away in the northern hills of Lanzarote, offering one of the island's most spectacular sunset viewpoints—without the crowds of more famous spots.
Head to the village's natural viewpoint in the late afternoon (around 6:00 PM in winter, later in summer). Witness a volcanic spectacle: reddish cones in the foreground, black malpaĂs stretching to the ocean, and the sun melting into orange and purple hues over the Atlantic.
The viewpoint is modest but the panorama is unforgettable. Bring a camera or phone for photos—the changing light creates incredible shots. Optional: grab a bottle of local wine and some tapas from HarĂa or elsewhere on the way up for a memorable sunset picnic.
Duration: 45 minutes to 1 hour
Free to visit. Accessible by car or motorbike (some unpaved sections). Best on clear days for unobstructed ocean views.
