Jameos del Agua caves
Jameos del Agua is a unique and spectacular cave system located in the north of Lanzarote, Canary Islands, Spain. It was created by the eruption of the volcano Monte de la Corona in the 18th century. The cave system is made up of several interconnected chambers, including an underground lake, a concert hall, and a restaurant.
The Jameos del Agua caves are considered one of the main attractions in Lanzarote, and were designed by the artist and architect César Manrique, who was known for his work preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of the Canary Islands. How to get there
There are several ways to get to Jameos del Agua in Lanzarote, which is located in the north of the island.
By car: You can rent a car or drive your own to Jameos del Agua. It is located on the LZ-2 road, which runs along the north coast of the island. There is parking available at the site.
By bus: There are several bus routes that stop near Jameos del Agua. The number 4 bus from Arrecife, the island’s capital, stops at the entrance to the site. The number 30 bus from Orzola also stops nearby.
By foot: Jameos del Agua is located on the Camino de los Volcanes, a hiking trail that runs across the island. It is possible to hike to the site from various locations, including the nearby village of Haría.
By taxi: Taxis are also available on the island and can take you directly to Jameos del Agua.
