Diving in Lanzarote

The Museo Atlántico is an underwater art museum located off the coast of Lanzarote. The museum was created by British sculptor Jason deCaires Taylor and opened in 2016.

It features more than 300 sculptures, most of which are made of pH-neutral materials that encourage the growth of marine life. Visitors can explore the sculptures by diving or snorkeling. The sculptures depict human figures and everyday objects, and are arranged in themed areas such as “The Rubicon,” a collection of sculptures that represent the transition from land to sea, and “The Anthropocene,” which highlights the impact of human activity on the environment.

The goal of the museum is to raise awareness about conservation and the importance of protecting the ocean.
