Cueva de los verdes
Cueva de los Verdes, also known as the Green Caves, is a cave system located in the north of the island of Lanzarote, Canary Islands, Spain. The caves were formed by volcanic eruptions and are part of the longest volcanic tunnel in the world, stretching for more than 6 kilometers. The caves are known for their unique and spectacular natural beauty and are a popular tourist attraction in Lanzarote.
The cave system includes several chambers, including the main concert hall, which is used for concerts and other cultural events. Inside the cave, visitors can admire the unique volcanic landscapes, including the crystal clear underground lake and the impressive formations of stalactites and stalagmites.
The caves are also home to the rare and endemic Guanche blind cave fish, known as “Garatones” and some other species of bats.

How to get there
To get to Cueva de los Verdes in Lanzarote, you can take a car or bus to the town of Haría and then take the LZ-1 road towards Guatiza. After about 15 kilometers, you will see signs for Cueva de los Verdes. It’s also possible to take a tour from nearby towns such as Playa Blanca or Costa Teguise. Once you reach the cave, you can park your car in the designated area and take a guided tour of the cave.
